As the name suggests, this system shares many of the attributes of a standard grid connect with the added advantage of storing some of the excess power for use later.
Basically you use the power you make during the day and at the same time you are charging your batteries for use at night. There are factors to consider such as:
- How much power are you using during the day? If you have the air conditioner on all day you may be using all available power and there is not enoogh left to charge the battery.
- On an overcast day you may not get a full charge. This is weather dependant and will cahnge with the seasons.
- How much power do you use at night? If you do your washing at night want to put it in the dryer, your battery will not last.
These are all issues we will discuss with you and take into account when designing a system to meet your needs.
Though it costs more than a standard grid connect system, the primary role of a grid connect system with storage is to save more money on power bills with the added advantage of having a limited source of power during minor network outages.

Can my home be fully connected after a power outage?
No, hybrid systems will not allow unlimited power during a blackout and will not allow extended use without being reconnected to a grid. You can run small appliances, but not large household appliances like air conditioning units, hot plates, refrigerators, ovens, etc.
